Aldi Confirms Olney Store Opening Date

ALDI OLNEYAldi has confirmed that its highly anticipated new store in Olney will officially open on 22nd August, offering local shoppers access to the retailer’s renowned low-cost, high-quality products.

The store, spanning 1,865 sqm, is thoughtfully designed to enhance the local shopping experience without detracting from existing businesses. It will provide 107 car parking spaces, including 7 parent and child bays, 5 disabled bays, and 4 electric vehicle charging points.

Giles Hurley, CEO of Aldi UK and Ireland, commented on the new openings: “Demand for Aldi has never been higher... We’re welcoming more and more customers through our doors every week.” The Olney store, one of the latest in Aldi's expansion plan, reflects this growing demand and the brand’s commitment to offering affordable shopping options across the UK.

The Olney store is one of 35 new stores Aldi plans to open this year, each creating around 40 new jobs on average. This expansion is part of Aldi’s long-term goal of reaching 1,500 stores in the UK, with the supermarket investing £550 million in expanding its UK footprint in 2024 alone.

The development is set to bring up to 25 well-paid full-time equivalent jobs to the community, supporting local employment. Additionally, Aldi has ensured that the store is energy efficient and environmentally sustainable, aligning with the company’s commitment to responsible development.

Located on a site already designated for development, Aldi claims the store is positioned as a suitable addition to the area, aiming to complement, rather than compete with, local outlets and independent traders.
