Centre MK Operating as Usual with Strong Footfall During the Last Few Days of the School Holidays

CENTRE 2A spokesperson for Centre MK has informed The Point that the shopping centre is operating as usual following a fire in Queens Court last week, which was contained to one small takeaway hut.

Posts on social media showed what appeared to be a large fire in the dining area of the centre. However, thanks to the swift actions of the centre's staff and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, the fire was contained to just one wooden unit that sold kebabs.

The spokesperson told The Point, "Our staff acted within minutes to ensure all our visitors and staff remained safe, with the immediate area sectioned off. Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue were promptly on the scene and dealt with the blaze, which fortunately didn’t spread to the other huts or the shopping centre."

They added, "our training for this type of event paid dividends in ensuring everyone’s safety. We were advised to evacuate the centre as a precaution due to the amount of smoke which appeared after the fire was out."

The Point understands that an investigation is still underway, with the remaining food huts staying closed for the moment.
