MKUH Seeks Participants in Milton Keynes for New Study on Heart Failure
Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) is calling for participants to join a new and innovative study designed to improve the quality of life for people living with heart failure.
The ACTIVATE study, sponsored by the University of Leicester and supported by the British Heart Foundation, aims to explore the effectiveness of specific treatments and interventions for patients suffering from this chronic condition.
Heart failure is a severe condition where the heart cannot pump blood around the body efficiently. It can lead to fatigue, shortness of breath, and swelling in the legs and ankles. As a common but debilitating condition, heart failure affects over 900,000 people in the UK alone.
The study will focus on:
Assessing the benefits of intravenous iron treatment
Evaluating its impact on physical activity and daily living
Measuring improvements in heart function and patient quality of life
Milton Keynes University Hospital is one of the key sites for this groundbreaking research, and they are actively seeking participants who meet the study criteria.
MKUH is looking for volunteers who are:
Diagnosed with heart failure
Experiencing symptoms such as tiredness, shortness of breath, and reduced exercise capacity
Interested in contributing to cutting-edge research that may benefit others with the same condition
Participants will receive comprehensive health assessments and regular follow-ups as part of the study, all under the care of a specialised medical team at MKUH.
