The 'Only Fools and Horses' musical, currently playing at MK Theatre, is a delightful adaptation penned by Paul Whitehouse and Jim Sullivan. While it loosely draws inspiration from the 'Dates' episode, it's packed with nostalgic moments that will resonate deeply with any fan of the original series.

The storyline, while familiar, is expertly crafted and engaging. The musical numbers are seamlessly integrated, serving as genuine extensions of the narrative rather than feeling forced. Notably, the poignant rendition of 'Holding Back the Years' is a standout moment, truly capturing the emotional depth of the show.

The cast impeccably embodies the beloved characters. Del Boy, Rodney, Trigger, Boycie, Grandad, Marlene, Cassandra, and Raquel are all present, each portrayal a testament to the actors' dedication. And for those in the know, a surprise cameo in the second half delivers a truly electrifying moment – a moment that had the audience erupting in applause, even more so than when the iconic Reliant Robin took the stage.

The set design, masterfully executed by Alice Power, deserves special mention. The use of authentic-looking London facades creates a remarkable sense of depth and atmosphere. The rotating central stage effortlessly transitions between locations, from the Trotter's flat to the Nag's Head, enhancing the fluidity of the production.

This musical is a must-see for any 'Only Fools and Horses' enthusiast. It captures the essence of the original series, delivering a nostalgic and heartwarming experience. It's a true 'ice cream' of a show – a treat that's both comforting and satisfying, assuring fans that their beloved characters are in safe hands.

If you can secure a ticket for its run at MK Theatre this week or next, do not hesitate. You'll understand why this production has been selling out; it's an absolute triumph.
